Well the new Acer Aspire ES1-512-C88M is surely a laptop that while not too expensive really gets the job done. Sure this really isn’t going to be a hardcore laptop but if you are buying a new notebook you don’t want to waste your money either. For $249.99 you are probably going to use this machine as well.
If that is the case wouldn’t you want something that is good to go and has a decent rating? Well the ES1-512-C88M might just be what you are looking for. While again this is not as powerful as the higher end machines it does come with the Intel Celeron N2840 dual core processor. We would suggest you get this is you are in need of something that can handle high demanding applications and playing the more powerful computer games.
Like many of the laptops from other makers in these price range the Ace Aspire ES1-512 is not a going to be a front runner. You won’t be playing 3D games or doing a lot of hard editing of videos on this machine unless you want it to lag forever. This comes with the Windows 8.1 64-bit with BING for the operating system and a clock rate of 2.16GHz but with boost your get 2.58GHz. This however does provide the speed and power you need for doing the basic MS Word, slide show presentations, surf the net and watch some videos.
These Aspire from Acer weighs in at 5.29 pounds, comes with the Intel Celeron 2.16Ghz for the processor, 4 GB 5400 RPM for storage, and the INtel HD graphics card. You also get a screen of 15.6 inches and 1366 x 768 for the max screen resolution. Sure you are not getting the high end machine but it does come with some key features that makes the laptop worth owning.
This is a computer that is great for someone who just need something basic and preferably more time in basic applications and surfing the internet. Two videos running at the sometime while having multiple applications open is not something this machine is capable of handling. Some of the big complaints would be no backlit keyboard, bad positioning of some of the ports as well as loud clicking noise from the keys.
We hate to keep bringing it up but remember you are looking for a budget friendly machine and somethings you give up for the sake of pricing. The right person for this machine is someone who has basic home/office needs, someone who enjoys having communication with family and friend via video chat and email and wants some entertain all within a laptop. You will get quality performance if you don’t over push the machine too hard.

While it is a little more solid then some of the other laptops its still not as sturdy as we would like to have them. At 5.29lbs the dimensions are 15.02 x 10.16 x 1.03 inches and comes with 1 lithium ion batteries.
Ok sure you are not going to get the best of the best with the Acer Aspire ES1-512-C88M but hey you are not paying some high price either. This is a fairly cheap machine with dual stereo speakers with HD audio support the comes with a fairly decent audio sound. You will get a front facing camera for webcam and an internal microphone. If you need something that is budget friendly and decent you can’t really go wrong if you need a something under $300. If you don’t mind spending more money you can definitely get a better laptop for around $500. If you are looking for a more advance laptop with more punch check out the HP Pavilion 17-F004DX. This bad boy comes with a 17.6 inch display and the AMD quad–core A10-574 M. Of course you are also going to be spending about $200 more but we think if performance is what you need its well worth it.
