When you combine the processor, Intel Celeron, that comes with a core processor with up to 2.4Ghz of speed with the 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM you will understand why we say this is not for the heavy user. However it does allow the more basic user to run multiple programs at once and with the 500GB hard drive you can store all of your data, music and photos while they also made sure that this machine comes with a SD/MMC media card slot in case you are someone who needs additional storage.
The ASUS F551MAV comes configured with Windows 8.1 and has Bing as the default search engine. It wasn’t a probable as we just switched it over to Google and for many others Yahoo would be the choice. The Window 8.1 comes with the Start button, at the request of many Windows users. It also allows you to boot directly to the Desktop. With this ASUS 15.6″ machine you also get 3GB free lifetime ASUS WebStorage for all of you other documents and photos that you can connect to using a secured and trusted network.

It comes in black with a nice polished or glossy logo design to give you the look of a higher end notebook. The laptop measures 15 x 9.9 x 1.2 inches and weighs about 4.7lbs which is not the lightest on the block but it will do. What did you expect for a price so low? This is still manageable to carry around and great for the home or office and even having to transport it between the two. There is a 3-cell Lithium Ion battery that we found gives close to the 4 hours suggest or claimed runtime. Again this is if you are not running the machine on full brightness, 4-10 applications running and the internet.

Well sure if you are looking to spend a few hundred dollars and okay with not having some of the bells and whistles that the higher end laptops come with. Its simple and lightweight and not something you should expect be using for graphics or videos much. However if you are willing to spend just a little more money you might be able to get the Toshiba Satellite C55T-B5230 15.6 inch laptop for about $100 more.
