If you didn’t get the original Dell Venue 11 Pro powered by the Atom processor don’t be too upset. In fact you may be happier with the new upcoming Venue Pro 11 7000 from Dell. This particular Venue will will fall in the middle of pricing when compared to the two older models that featured the Atom and i5 powered devices. The starting price will be just under $700 which is still $380 dollars less than the previous i5 model but $200 more than the Atom version. This premium business slate isn’t’ cheap but for the versatility and improved performance it may be worth the money.
Dell announced yesterday that the new Venue Pro 11 7000 and 7140 will offer up better productivity accessories, come with he new low power high speed Core M processor from Intel and have a better performance/portability balance. This Venue Pro will come in at 15 percent thinner than the latter versions but the weight and dimensions are just about the same. This model weight 1.6 pounds and measures 11.01 x 6.95 x .42 inches.
As for the design of the Dell Venue Pro 11 expect the same look and feel of the previous ones with a black color that features soft-touch backside that have sides that come with magnesium and glossy black bezel. Because it comes with the new Intel Core M processor Dell was able to make this particular Venue Pro a little bit slimmer than the other models. The new Venues will be fanless and there should be a noticeable speed difference between the Atom Z3770 powered models and the Core M models.
It will come also with a 10-point capacitive touch display that measures 10.8 inches and has a max screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 with Dell claiming that the new Venue Pro model’s panel will provide 400 nits of brightness. That is yet to be seen as the last Atom model came with just 151 notes which is a very big difference. Look for a very thin keyboard that comes with the Pro 11 which you can use if you are looking for a laptop replacement. While it does come with a little keyboard in the box you can get a full size keyboard and mouse with docking station from Dell.
The Venue Pro 11 7000 will come with a lot of connectivity options and and you will be able to connect to wireless with the 802.11ac Wi-Fi card or Bluetooth 4.0. You will also have your choice of 4 or 8 GB of RAM and solid state storage that comes in either 64, 128 or 256GB. For capturing photos there is a 8 MP camera in the rear with a 2MP front facing camera. The screen is very colorful and we can only imagine who the processor is going to handle.
