Rumors have it that there is a Google Nexus Smartwatch announcement coming soon. Many are hoping that the Google Smartwatch release date will be announced as soon as October 31st when Google is supposed to be unveiling the Android 4.4 KitKat and suggestions state the Nexus 5 as well.
CEO Larry Page stated that “People increasingly have more than one device. Screens are proliferating in the home as well as wearable screens like watches and Google Glass” and though that don’t say the company was working on a smartwatch of their own it did make rumors fly.
As for the release date of Google’s Smartwatch the only currently know product is the Nexus Gem and many people suspect that this will be released/launched at the end of October. With the finishing touches being said to have been put on the product a Google Smartwatch release date should be supplied soon.
Funny thing is what would you really want on a smart watch as it seems that every smart watch must be attached to another device or product to actually get the full potential out of having one. Google Now is said to be at the center piece of the Google Smartwatch product and would just come up on your watch instead of your phone.
From Artem Russakovskil in relations to the Smartwatch released date Artem stated “Nexus watch, codenamed Gem, likely together with the KitKat announcement. The date I have, which, once again, is about a month old, is also October 31st.”
This I fear is about as good as things are going to get for now for all of us who are wanting to know more about the Google Nexus smartwatch. Right now it seems at though everyone is trying to not only figure out if there is a product, when it would be releasing but also what will be available on it. Things such as your SMS messages, emails, alarms, and Calendar reminders could all be pushed to your watch.
I am a little off beat with this because depending on the size of the screen if I owned the watch whether Samsung’s new smart watch or Google’s I would still want to check my phone. I just don’t see the screen as being big enough.
With the release and news of the Google’s “Watch” release date now making its way I think more and more people will start to question where Apple is in the production. Many people in general say they love the idea behind having smart watches while many say that they could just be a waste of time.
Whatever happens we all know this is just the beginning. Everyone is just trying to be the first on the block with the technology and in the long run we know that the true test of these smartwatches will come with the 2nd and 3rd generations when things are really geared up and moving.
For now we will have to assume and hope that more information on the released will be given on October 31, 2013 like many people are suggesting. If now we will still keep digging and trying to relate the upcoming Google Smartwatch release date.
