Lenovo ThinkPad Helix, 11.6 inch Convertible Ultrabook Specs and Short Review

First appeared at CES in January, finally Lenovo has officially announced the availability of the upcoming Lenovo convertible laptop tablet, called as Lenovo ThinkPad Helix. Based on the third generation of Intel Ivy Bridge platform that brings a lof of power for multitasking and a special robust design that makes this machine can be transform into tablet mode, stand mode or laptop mode with ease, the ThinkPad Helix ultrabook is one of the best choice for business and professional users who have a more budget. On their twitter page, the company said if this machines will be release in United States in April, 2013.

According to product page, Lenovo ThinkPad Helix will be release in several configurations. Under the hood, this model will be powered by a 1.7GHZ Intel Core i5-3317U Processor, 1.8GHZ Intel Core i5-3427U Processor or a 2.0GHZ Intel Core i7-3667U Dual Core Processor. It also paired with a 8GB DDR3 1333MHz SDRAM and preloaded with the 64 bit version of Microsoft Windows 8 as the operating system provides a lot of power to handle most power office applications and multimedia work. Lenovo ThinkPad Helix convertible tablet boasts a 11.6 inch Full High Definition touch screen Corning Gorilla glass display with support a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 10-point multitouch capabilities. It uses IPS technology and integrated Intel HD graphics 4000 as graphics accelerator brings 400-nit brightness and more vivid color for images, video or latest modern games. There is also a 2.1 MP front facing camera with internal digital microphone for Skype communication and a 5.0 megapixel rear camera on the back with LED flash for capture photo and 1080p video recording.

Other features are a pair of stereo speakers with Dolby Home Theater v to enhanced audio quality, Kensington Lock port, Precision ThinkPad Keyboard with Five-button ClickPad for comfortable typing and to use on a desk, TPM chip and a 4-cell lithium polymer battery that provides more than 5 hours of battery life in tablet mode or up to 10 hours of battery life on ultrabook mode.

In term of port and connectivity, the Lenovo Helix will be equipped with an audio jack, single USB 2.0 port, 2x USB 3.0 port for faster transfer speed, mini Display port to connect into external monitor, mini HDMI port, LTE, NFC and Intel Centrino Advanced-N 62055 wireless LAN to connect into wireless network.
