South Korean company LG announces its new LG Gx a few days ago. The name is simple but after launching the flagship LG G2 a few months ago the company now makes the Gx official by confirming not only the new name but also some of the specifications to be associated with it. Unlike some other phablets the company choose to simultaneously launch and release the device in its home country.
The new LG Gx will be the South Korean company’s answer or competition to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and will sport a 5.5 inch screen with 1080p display. The Gx from LG will also come with the quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor with 1.9GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 3,140 mAh battery and both front facing and rear facing camera’s. The front facing camera will feature 2.1 megapixels and the rear will be 13 megapixels.
While the Galaxy Note 3 and the One Max have been on the market for several months LG has decided to wait until the holidays to bring the Gx to the table. This could effect the sales of the phablet. The specs of the LG Gx are a little bit similar to the LG Optimus G Pro and to many the phone still appears to be worthy to rival the HTC One Max as well as the Galaxy Note 3. We expect to see full 1080p HD on the 1920 x 1200 screen resolution and possible 4G LTE-A capabilities.
There seems to be no wow factors for the LG Gx as the HTC phone comes with the fingerprint reader and BoomSound stereo speakers while the Note 3 comes with the S pen and a lot more. However we still have to wait on the official specifications of the Gx as these are just a few of the specs that the company has released and we are expecting there to be more to come.
This LG Gx is only expected to release in Korea for now and there is to expected or announced release dates for wider release. We do think however that the new LG Gx could become the newest rival of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the HTC One Max. Let’s just wait and see what the future holds for the new Gx model phablet.
