Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 Tablet Big Display Available Next Year

It was announced that Panasonic plans to release and allow tablets to ship this coming January 2014. This means the Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 Tablet with 4K resolution is something you will be able to get your hands on. That is of course if you can hold the giant 20-inch tablet and afford its whopping $6,000.00 price tag.

The Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 is not for your average everyday use like your IPad or Nexus. This Panasonic line of tablets are professional grade and are meant to be used exclusively for design use in the field.

Specifications on the Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5

The Panasonic 4K UT-MB5 Tablet comes in weighing a little over 5lbs at 5.27lbs, has a 20 inch screen with 3840 x 2560 screen resolution. The native aspect ratio of this Panasonic tablet is 15:10 and has a pixel density of 230 pixels per inch.

This tablet comes with Windows 8.1 Pro and is powered with the Intel Core i5 vPro processor. Hopefully you are not to dependent on battery life as this 20-inch Toughpad only gets about two hours per full charge. With 256GB SSD, 2, 2 GB of VRAM, 8 GB of RAM, Bluetooth, memory slot, memory car reader, 1280 x 720 pixel front camera and USB 3.0 connectivity this is no tablet for the faint of heart.

Panasonic’s Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 Tablet will all support a 10pt multi touch input that can be used with your fingers or the optional touch pen. While surely not the lightest of tablets it is one of the thinnest and lights 20″ tablet on the market today. That is because of the use of magnesium alloy for the frame and the reinforced glass fiber case.

It is said that this table (or monitor as some would say) was designed by Panasonic to handle drops from different heights and angles. Since there are no cases for the Toughpad 4K at the moment you will be forced to carry this around in your hands.

What do you pay for all of this – well of course the $6k price tag. This drops in January 2014 and it seems like there is a lot of interest for theĀ Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 so it will be interesting to see how it sells. Would you spend $5,999.99 on a 20 inch tablet? If you are on the market for Windows budget friendly tablet but did not want to breaking the bank, we recommend you to check the $399 Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet that preinstalled with Microsoft Windows RT 8.1 OS.
